Tikal-25 Manual - Memory Usage
Memory Usage
This is about the usage of the storage functions of the emulator, not about the memory usage of the application. The STO and SUM keys copy over / add the currently displayed value to the stored value without affecting the current number. Whenever a non-zero value is stored, "M" appears in the display. Storing 0 clears the memory. RCL copies the stored value to the currently displayed number which then can be used in further operations. To discard the recalled value, just type in a number. The stored value remains. EXC exchanges (swaps) the currently displayed number with the stored value. After the operation, the store holds the previously displayed number, and the previously stored number is displayed and available for further operations.
Notes on Calculator Operation
In contrast to the original device, switching between normal and scientific display does not affect the underlying value, it just changes the display mode. Using the sequence
× 1
EE = is not necessary to fully maintain the original accuracy.
